Membership at the Miami Rowing and Watersports Center
Membership is open to everyone, and there are different categories from which to choose. MRWC needs membership to help subsidize facility expenses and to fund club equipment so that members have rowing shells and oars accesible to them when they need them.
The rowing community at large thrives a spirit of contribution. Members of MRWC are also encouraged to volunteer and participate in helping the "rowing community" at MRWC. These volunteer activities include things such as boathouse clean-ups, volunteering at Learn to Row day, helping out at the annual Miami International Regatta, or helping a new rower learn the ropes.
We encourage families of the High School rowers to join in order to enjoy the rowing experience also.
Do you have to join right away?
No. Of course you can try things out before you join. Non-members are allowed 3 free rows in a 30-day period with an authorized MRC coach or member to try out the sport before you decide. (High School rowers have a separate requirements. Please visit the High School page)
This can be in form of private lessons, the Learn to Row program, or just coming out with one of the existing members.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we do, but hey, if you don't there's no commitment.
We have lots of fun here at MRWC, and we hope to see on the water soon!
